How to get from Frankfurt airport to Heidelberg

You can use, either

the Woerns airport shuttle
the Lufthansa bus or
the train.

A) Shuttle service "WOERNS REISEN"

    Please inform Woerns by fax at least two working days in advance of
        -your name
        -flight details (flight number and arrival/departure date and time)
        -the name of the hotel where you are staying
        -Reference: EMBL FOM 99 Conference
    The company has to confirm you reservation by fax.

Frankfurt airport has two terminals. If you arrive in terminal 1, please meet the driver at the meeting point in arrivals lounge B. If you arrive in Terminal 2, meet the driver at the meeting point between exit D and E. The driver will be carrying an EMBL sign, and will also be waiting for you in case your flight is delayed.

The charge is 55 DM one way (You need to have DM cash on hand to pay the driver!)

B) LUFTHANSA BUS

Alternatively, you can use the LUFTHANSA BUS, which leaves on the hour from the meeting point at Terminal B on the arrivals level. The bus halts at the Merriott Hotel in Heidelberg and costs 36 DM one way (pay in cash). The journey takes one hour (direct) or 1,5 hour (via Mannheim).

C) TRAIN

You can also take the TRAIN from Frankfurt airport to Heidelberg. You will either have to change in Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof or Mainz, the journey takes an hour and the charge one way is appr. 25 DM.
