Bus Shuttle Heidelberg <-> EMBL

There is a free shuttle service between Heidelberg and EMBL during the "Focus on Microscopy" Conference.

Busses collect the conference participants from four meeting points in the city and bring them to EMBL and back.

The meeting points are:

Heidelberg Marriott Hotel - Vangerowstr. 16
Heidelberg Main Station (Hauptbahnhof)
Crowne Plaza Heidelberg Hotel / Bauhaus - Kurfürstenanlage (parking place right behind the hotel)
Neckarmünzplatz

Public Transport Heidelberg <-> EMBL

You can take BUS 21 from the Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik to Heidelberg Bismarckplatz. A one way fare costs 3.30 DM to be paid cash to the bus driver. The quickest way to get to the bus stop is by walking uphill from the Operon, past the EMBL Main Entrance, until you come to an iron gate. Go through the gate and simply follow the road until you have traversed the premises of the Max-Planck-Institute. After passing through another gate you are on the main road where the bus passes. The bus stop is across the road (slightly left). The walk from EMBL to the bus stop as well as the bus ride to town take appr.12 mins.

Heidelberg (Bismarckplatz) to the Max-Planck-Institute:
