Systems
biology of meiosis and mating in budding
yeast
Our group is interested in
cell biological and molecular mechanisms underlying signal
transduction and genetic recombination. Our favored
processes are yeast mating/pheromone signaling and meiosis.
We use the bakers' yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae - but not
exclusively - as a model system.
We perform systemic approaches to investigate cell
biological processes. Thereby we combine genetics, cell
biology, biochemistry, advanced light microscopy and
mathematical modeling.
