Legal Adviser

The Legal Adviser's Office provides legal support in institutional matters, in questions related to EMBL's international status, contracts, litigation / arbitration, intellectual property and various other legal issues.

 It gives advice on tender documents and drawing up of contracts for the procurement of supplies and services, legal follow-up of EMBL's contractual relations including advice on labour law, international law and on disputes.

 The Office also assists in training of EMBL staff in general contractual matters.

 

Dominik Reske, EMBL’s Legal Adviser, studied law in Heidelberg and Leicester and graduated from the University of Heidelberg in 2001. He was admitted to the bar in Germany in 2005, after having passed his second state examination in 2004.

Dominik holds a Dr. iur. from the University of Heidelberg, and prior to joining EMBL worked as International Attorney for Becton, Dickinson and Company in Heidelberg.
