EMBL alumni are entitled to keep their Heidelberg lunch cards for life. If you have already returned your card, you can request a new one for a €10 deposit from the Petty Cash Office (Tel: +49 6221 387-8568). Alumni can add money to their card at any of the lunch card machines at EMBL Heidelberg (by the cafeteria or canteen). Access to the EMBL buildings is de-activated on all alumni cards.

EMBL alumni may have access to the EMBL Core Facilities and Services based on a fee and the availability of the resources (to which EMBL staff and YIP members are given first priority). For more information, please contact: Christian Boulin, Director of Core Facilities and Services.

EMBL alumni can watch top level seminars at EMBL through live streaming.

EMBL is currently in discussions regarding the extension of staff long term care insurance to cover also those alumni who are interested. The outcome of these discussions will be posted here in due course.

ELLS offer alumni know-how in setting up informal science education units in their research organisations. They have already shared their know-how and helped set up continuing professional development programmes for European secondary school science teachers in Italy, Greece, Portugal, Spain and the Ukraine.
