Enter a search term in the search box at the top of the page, and press the "search" button.
The system searches the fields: First name, surname, research interests, current institute, city, country and nationality. The number of results are displayed directly under the search box, and the term queried is highlighted in the text.
Under the Search box at the top of the page, you will see the number of search results found for any one search.
You can filter a search by using the left-hand menu. Filters can only be applied AFTER you have begun a search. To cancel one or more filters, simply close the relevant filter from the "Filters" box at the top of the search list. The Filters box only appears after you have selected a filter from the left-hand menu.

Director Bioinformatics, Target Validation/ Drug Discovery Division
Incyte Genomics, Inc.
Dirk received his MS in Biophysics from Humoldt University Berlin, Germany in 1992. From 1993-1997
he was a pre-doctoral fellow at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany. His research as a graduate
student in the group of Prof. Patrick Argos largely focused on theoretical aspects of protein structures and folding by means of
developing and applying computational methods. In 1997 he defended his Ph.D. magna cum laude and joined the research group of Prof. Fred Cohen
at UCSF, USA. While continuing his research on principles on protein structures, he also investigated aspects of Prion biology in
collaboration with Prof. Stanley Prusiner (UCSF) and Prof. Doniach (Stanford University). For this project he received funding from the
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. Since 1999 Dirk has been a scientist at Incyte Pharmaceuticals, and now heads a Bioinformatics group in Incyte's Target Validation/ Drug Discovery division. Dirk has published numerous articles in high-profile, peer-reviewed journals. As a referee for scientific
journals such as the Journal of Molecular Biology, Protein Science, Bioinformatics and others, his scientific expertise is frequently
requested.
