How to search

Enter a search term in the search box at the top of the page, and press the "search" button.

The system searches the fields: First name, surname, research interests, current institute, city, country and nationality. The number of results are displayed directly under the search box, and the term queried is highlighted in the text.

Under the Search box at the top of the page, you will see the number of search results found for any one search.

You can filter a search by using the left-hand menu. Filters can only be applied AFTER you have begun a search. To cancel one or more filters, simply close the relevant filter from the "Filters" box at the top of the search list. The Filters box only appears after you have selected a filter from the left-hand menu.

Biography: Heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) are produced by most cell types in metazoans and consist of long polysaccharides chains attached to core proteins. The HSPG polysaccharide chains are synthesized in many variants, and accumulating evidence suggests that this molecular variation plays an important role in modulating growth factor and morphogen function during the development and adult life of vertebrates. At Uppsala University, 1998-2004, I developed tools to study heparan sulfate (HS) biosynthesis in mice with targeted mutations in genes encoding HS biosynthesis enzymes. This work has given information on how HS biosynthesis is regulated in vivo. 2004-2007, I held a postdoctoral position at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL Heidelberg, Germany) where I choose to study the modulating role of HSPGs for growth factor and morphogen signalling with zebrafish as a model system. I am currently holding a position as a assistant professor/research associate in Uppsala, Sweden, where I continue this line of research.
