He completed his PhD at the Hubrecht Institute for Developmental Biology in Utrecht, The Netherlands where he performed biochemical/molecular biological research to the regulation of activity of membrane phosphatases in the group of Jeroen den Hertog. Before this he finished a Masters degree in Biology, also in Utrecht. In between he performed a fellowship at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Grenoble, France, in the group of Rob Ruigrok where he worked on the Influenza virus. -
