Biography: I am currently working at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) in Barcelona in the Structural Bioinformatics Group leaded by Dr. Patrick Aloy.
I have worked at EMBL Hamburg as Bioinformatics Software Engineer, in Thomas Schneider's group, to the realization of tools for the analysis and comparison of protein structures, with particular emphasis to structural alignment and identification of conformationally invariant regions between structures of similar proteins.
I have done a PhD in bioinformatics on the development of computational tools for the analysis of genomic sequences. In particular during my PhD I applied several algorithmic techniques to the analysis of promoter sequences and to the alignment of sequences of entire genomes.
