After a postdoc in Berlin and a short period at the University of Massachusetts (Bob Zimmerman's lab), I worked at EMBL on ribosomal RNA processing in S. cerevisiae (David Tollervey's lab). I moved with the Tollervery lab to Edinburgh and continued work on stable RNA processing and mRNA degradation mechanisms in yeast. I have been a lecturer in the Molecular Biology Department at the University of Sheffield since 2004, where I am continuing work on eukaryotic RNA surveillance mechanisms.
