    Biography: I currently work at the Children’s Cancer Research Institute-UTHSCSA (San Antonio-texas) as a Principal Investigator in Molecular Oncogenesis and Assistant Professor in the Department of Cellular and Structural Biology. I attended the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and received his Ph.D. from the University of Madrid (UAM), Spain.     Biography: I got my PhD from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in 1990, working on splicing regulation during influenza virus infection in the lab of Juan Ortin. I did a postdoc at the University of Massachusetts from 1991 to 1995, working on mechanisms of splicing regulation in the lab of Michael Green. I joined EMBL as a group leader in 1996, and continued to work on splicing regulation within the Gene Expression Programme. In June 2002 I joined the Centre de Regulacio Genomica of Barcelona as an ICREA Research Professor.
