SET-Routes

Between 2006-2009, the Alumni Association worked together with EMBL in its collaboration with EMBO and CERN to awaken young girls' interests in science and to encourage young women graduates to pursue careers in Science, Engineering and Technology – SET. It supported them with EMBL's network of alumnae scientists from PhD students to institute directors, who were invited to serve as School or University Ambassadors in their countries. We would like to thank all our alumni who helped make this initiative a success

Swedish Fellowship

The Alumni Association was able to offer a Swedish scientist, Johan Ledin, the opportunity to carry out postdoctoral research for 2.5 years at EMBL through a generous grant from The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (2004-2007). The Association is using the Swedish example to pursue funds for similar fellowships for scientists from other member states and will post these on this website in due course.
