ALMF offers temporary storage of image files on \\almf\almf. Files are deleted from the server after 3 months.

Log out from the server before you leave the microscope (Windows Explorer > Tools > Disconnect Network Drive).

Save files from the microscopes to the ALMF server

• Open the Windows Explorer (e.g. ‘Windows key' + ‘e’) and choose Tools > Map Network Drive from menu
• Type \\almf\almf\ as folder name (choose any free drive letter)
• Use embl\your_username and password (already logged in?) in the following dialogue box
• After finishing your session on the microscope, please disconnect from the ALMF server or log out from Windows

How to access ALMF-Server from your Mac

Disconnect from ALMF server

On windows computers open the windows explorer (e.g. ‘Windows key' + ‘e’) and click on Tools > Disconnect Network Drive from menu and choose \\almf\almf.

On Macs: move the ALMF Server icon to the bin.

Troubleshooting ALMF server

If you cannot write to the server, save your data locally. Try to connect to the server later and transfer your data. Contact Stefan Terjung (Tel. 8467).

If you have no account on the server or you need more space, please contact Stefan Terjung (Tel. 8467). If you are logged in on a wrong account please disconnect and re-login with your own account (sometimes you need to log off from Windows).
