Molecular biology looks into past and future at
The EMBO Meeting 2009 |

The first ever annual life conference from EMBO buzzed with talks, debates, new ideas and discussions. In all, 1,300 attendees from 50 countries gathered in Amsterdam to hear the latest science and meet friends and colleagues. For four days, they made the rooms of the spacious convention centre come alive. The meeting was well attended by young scientists, especially predocs and postdocs, who made the most of the opportunity to meet senior colleagues and gain career information. [more...]

| Big changes afoot – and scientists to benefit |

While providing a new home for several of EMBL’s groups, the principal function of the Advanced Training Centre is to provide a new European hub for conferences, courses and workshops in the life sciences. Its new facilities will serve one of EMBL’s core missions: training.
As a result, the Course and Conference Office (CCO) has been busy professionalising its services, both to deal with a substantial rise in the numbers of courses, conferences and participants, and also to ensure that scientists benefit most effectively from the fantastic new facilities available.
