The first of several conferences on the structure, regulation and functions of microtubules will be held in the new conference center at EMBL Heidelberg from 2 - 5 June 2010
This meeting will bring together scientists working on microtubule functions at different levels of complexity and using a wide range of methods. The conference will emphasize the interdisciplinary nature of this quickly expanding research field featuring latest progress ranging from structural and theoretical biophysics to cell and developmental biology. | Another successful M2M Practical Course |

On the 28th of October 2009, seven days of learning, problem solving and socialising came to an end for the participants of the 9th Training in methods for Macromolecular Crystallography: From Measurement to Model course (M2M-9). This was the 11th course of the series, which was initiated in 1991 at EMBL Hamburg. Although the intense course had taken its toll on participants and organizers alike, all were happy with the quality of the course. [more...] |

| Small Molecule Training gets off to a great Start at the EMBL-EBI |

The first Hands-on course on “Small Molecule Bioactivity Resources at The EBI” has just successfully taken place (25-29 January 2010). The course provided hands-on training on several topics ranging from searching ChEMBL - the EMBL-EBI's newly launched public database of drugs and drug-like molecules - to optimising compound structures for target validation. Proteins, bioinformatics, teaching, great food, long evenings, good beer - all key features of the third bioinformatic practical course on Exploring Modular Protein Architecture (EMPA2010). The course, organised by EMBL's Toby Gibson and Aidan Budd with the help of the EMBL Courses and Conferences Office, took place this January at the EMBL in Heidelberg, Germany.
