Beckman Optima XL-A Analytical Ultracentrifuge

Analytical Ultracentrifugation (AUC) is a powerful tool to study hydrodynamic properties of macromolecules in solution, based on monitoring their sedimentation in the centrifugal field. The method can be used in two modes: sedimentation velocity and sedimentation equilibrium.

Analytical Ultracentrifugation allows to calculate sedimentation coefficient, diffusion coefficient, molecular weight and association constant and get shape information.

AUC is very useful approach for the identification of oligomeric states of biological molecules and stoichiometry of heterogeneous interactions.
