Joining the lab

Currently there are opportunities to join our research group as a postdoctoral researcher, PhD student, or Master student.

Applicants for post-doctoral positions

Experience with bioinformatics/biostatistics or programming is required. Experience with NGS data analysis and/or QTL mapping in humans is beneficial. Current projects range from personalised 'omics approaches, aiming at understanding the molecular basis of complex traits to predictions of drug-genotype interactions. The successful candidate is expected to take a strong lead on his/her project and start to develop independent ideas that can potentially be followed up by collaborations with experimental labs.

For applications please contact Judith Zaugg by email and attach your CV and a brief motivation letter of your research interests.

Applicants for PhD positions or Master students

Students will have the opportunity to learn and help develop a variety of bioinformatics and statistical tools and models ranging from NGS data analysis pipelines, eQTL mapping and personalized genomics to large-scale data processing and visualization. A theoretical background and / or interest in either bioinformatics/biostatistics, programming or functional genomics/genetics is beneficial. Students are expected to be highly motivated to work on challenging research projects in an international team.

PhD applicants: Please apply through the EMBL International PhD Programme.

Master students: Please have a look at the pages for Visitors and Undergraduates and send your CV and a brief motivation letter to Judith Zaugg directly.
