The EMBL Course and Conferences Office (CCO) was established in 1984, to support EMBL scientists in organizing conferences, workshops and courses. Ever since we have been continuously expanding our team.

With a team of four professional event organisers we are offering a full range of event management services. We have an extensive experience in organising large-scale scientific meetings, medium-sized workshops, practical courses and one-day events. Tailoring our services through individual planning and customised organisation specifically to your event, we aim to meet event the most demanding requirements.

We take on your project from the initial idea to the successful event. Handling all logistical and managerial details of the events (e.g. budgeting, participant registration, abstract processing, venue and hotel bookings), we enable scientific organisers to focus entirely the scientific aspects. Onsite, we liaise with the technical and catering staff to ensure a smooth progression of the events, unaffected by technicalities and devoted entirely to scientific exchange. We typically manage events onsite at the EMBL Heidelberg, but occasionally also support scientists organising an event offsite.

Our services are available for all EMBL staff, as well as external organisers, interested in hosting a course, workshop or conference at EMBL.
