Travel grants

 

EMBO Travel Grants

For this course EMBO Courses & Workshops Programme will provide additional (limited) funding, allowing organisers to offer travel grants to a few of their selected participants coming from labs in countries in need of scientific strengthening (within Europe or internationally). A maximum of 500 EUR per travel grant can be awarded (at organisers’ discretion, the amount can be lowered to accommodate more participants).
This grant should be used to cover economy travel costs. Visa, accommodation and subsistence costs will not be covered by these funds.
Priority is given to participants working in labs in: Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa and Turkey.
Travel grants may also be provided to participants working in labs in the following: Africa, Asia (excluding Japan, Singapore, and Korea) South and Central America, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, Serbia, and Ukraine.

Please indicate your interest for an EMBO Travel Grant when submitting your motivation letter. During the motivation letter submission phase (step 2 after you have registered for the course) there will be a small field to complete your reasons for requesting this travel grant.
The recipients of the travel grants will be selected by the scientific organiser during the review process. If you are awarded a travel grant, you will be notified after the completion of the review process by the conference officer. Please make sure to keep all travel receipts for reimbursement.

Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds Travel Grants (including registration fees)

There are a limited number of Travel Grants from the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds, Foundation for Basic Research in Medicine available for this course. 

These travel grants cover travel to and from the course, accommodation during the course and the course registration fees.

Please indicate your interest for this grant when submitting your letter of motivation. The short list of applicants will be selected by the scientific organiser during course selection process, after which you will be contacted and requested to complete a standard form and submit the usual documentation. The foundation will award the grants to applicants pursuing an experimental project in basic biomedical research and submitting an interesting abstract. The applicants should belong to one of the following groups of junior scientists:

- PhD students or medical students pursuing an experimental doctoral thesis who are not older than 30 years of age;

- postdocs who are pursuing a particular research project who are not older than 32 years of age
