The Hotel Backmulde is living history and original tradition in the centre of Heidelberg. According to history, the former “Schwarzes Schiff” (hence the name of the street) was a sailors’ inn, which was twice destroyed. First, by the French campaign, and then by a fire in 1689. After that it was rebuilt as it stands today.
