Bridging excellence

The Stanford | EMBL Life Science Alliance is a non-profit cross-institutional research initiative dedicated to the advancement of science and technology development. Inaugurated in 2015, the Alliance promotes collaboration and exchange, and facilitates access to research services offered at EMBL and the Stanford School of Medicine.

Building on complementary strengths of the partner organizations and on ongoing collaborative efforts in the fields of genomics, biological imaging and structural biology, the Alliance aims to create an interdisciplinary research network for the benefit of the life science communities worldwide. By bringing together members of the scientific communities at the Stanford School of Medicine and EMBL, the Alliance intends to break up knowledge barriers between the separate research communities and to create synergies, allowing them to enrich the scientific community and to capitalize on each other’s advances in the field. For this, the Alliance seeks to initiate ambitious projects and to foster participation in cross-institutional activities, to make best practices available to others and to provide support to its members. At the heart of the Alliance is a deep commitment to challenging research goals and bold ideas, and to making a difference in current research.

Help fund our efforts to increase collaboration and advance biomedical research here.
