Heidelberg, 14 November 2014 Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators 2014 goes to Madeline Lancaster American scientist Madeline Lancaster, Ph. D. (Marie Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Laboratory of Juergen Knoblich at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, IMBA, Vienna, Austria) has won the 2014 Eppendorf Award for Young European Investigators. The Award ceremony took place at the EMBL Advanced Training Centre in Heidelberg, Germany, on 22 May 2014.
Heidelberg, 29 April 2014 Training roundtable Partners bring new perspective on advanced scientific training. Training specialists from the Founding and Corporate Partners of EMBL’s Advanced Training Centre – including Leica, Olympus, BD and Illumina – gathered in April with managers of EMBL’s external training unit for a kick-off meeting aimed at furthering training synergy and strategy.
Heidelberg, 18 July 2013 GSK joins EMBL’s Corporate Partnership Programme New corporate partner supports advanced scientific training hub. GSK/Cellzome, a subsidiary of global healthcare company GlaxoSmithKline, and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) have signed a corporate partnership agreement whereby GSK will support the EMBL Advanced Training Centre in Heidelberg for three years with funding for conferences and training. In return, GSK will gain access to EMBL’s state-of-the-art training facilities and may take on an advisory role to identify topics for future conferences, seminars and workshops.
