Skills development in a collaborative approach to R&D

The development of novel medicines is a complex, lengthy and costly process. Addressing the challenges of the constantly changing technological, legal and business environment requires best possible use of the knowledge and skills of all employees within a company as well as external collaboration with academia and all other relevant stakeholders. Matthias Gottwald, Head R&D Policy and Networking at Bayer Pharmaceutical Division will present what Bayer is doing with its Functional Academies to support life-long-learning of its employees and share his experiences on alliance management skills needed to work in external collaboration.
