We are Europe’s flagship research laboratory for the life sciences – an intergovernmental organisation performing scientific research in disciplines including molecular biology, physics, chemistry and computer science. We are an international, innovative and interdisciplinary laboratory with more than 1600 employees from many nations, operating across six sites, in Heidelberg (HQ), Barcelona, Hinxton near Cambridge, Hamburg, Grenoble and Rome.

Our Electronic Engineering team is involved in the design and construction of equipment required by the in-house researchers. The team has a long experience in designing and building new user-friendly equipment for life sciences applications.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated student to join the Electronic Workshop team at EMB

Your role

In close collaboration with the electronic engineers, you will be responsible for assembling and testing electronic devices, which are used in our research labs. According to qualifications and availability, the role will also allow being involved in development projects and may lead to a long-term collaboration.

You have

As our ideal candidate, you are currently studying and have training as an electronic technician.
Ability to work in a small team, good communication skills, flexibility and a good working knowledge of English and German are essential.

You might also have

Good knowledge in basic electronic as well as basic knowledge and skills in mechanical design would be an asset.

Please note that appointments on fixed term contracts can be renewed, depending on circumstances at the time of the review.
