The EMBL-EBI Grants Office is a busy close-knit team, currently comprising of seven members. 

Reporting to the Grants Office Supervisor at EMBL-EBI and working closely with Grants Data Officer and Grants Officer colleagues at EMBL-EBI, you will support the Grants Office, its activities, and internal communication.

Your role

You will coordinate the involvement of the Grants Office in shared administrative processes with other offices; such as liaising with HR, Grants Officers and Senior Finance Officers regarding finance approvals; and Purchasing & Finance on financial approval of partner and consultancy invoices paid from grants. 

You will also provide support to the Grants Data Officer in maintaining CRIS (Current Research Information System) data, and record keeping and archiving when required.

You will also be working on improving the Grants Office’s internal communication; including intranet and training materials.

You have

This role would suit a self-directed individual with structured organising and planning skills who enjoys working proactively as part of a team to achieve agreed objectives.

You should have a high degree of numeracy and confidence with figures, and be able to maintain administrative and finance records.

You will need to be able to communicate clearly and succinctly with an appreciation of sensitivities around personal data and international working environment.

You might also have

Experience or understanding of academic environments would be beneficial.  Any experience in communications and training would be useful, but not required.
