Job Description

We are seeking a Scientific Database Curator, to join the Molecular Interaction team at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) located on the Wellcome Genome Campus near Cambridge in the UK.



The Database Curator will contribute to the maintenance and extension of the IntAct molecular interaction database and the Complex Portal. The main tasks are the analysis of published literature on protein interactions and their integration into the IntAct database and the abstraction of information to create reference protein complexes. The successful candidate will also interact with external data producers and international partner databases through the IMEx Consortium to ensure highest quality standards for the resulting molecular interaction data.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will hold a PhD or MSc in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related subject. An interest in bioinformatics is required, prior experience in database curation, analysis of protein interactions, molecular pathways or cellular complexes is a plus.



You should be able to work independently and interact well within a team environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as a working knowledge of English language are essential.
