The Molecular Networks Team at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) is looking for a software engineer for the Reactome database (htttps://Reactome.org). Our team works in a highly collaborative international environment and takes a leading role in the development of standards and tools for the representation of complex graphs and networks of biological interactions, which underpin all processes in a living being.
The post holder will work in a global, team-oriented environment and collaborate closely with developers, bioinformaticians and scientists across EMBL-EBI and with external partners both in the UK and internationally. EMBL-EBI is a world-leading bioinformatics centre providing biological data to the scientific community with expertise in data storage, analysis and representation. EMBL-EBI provides freely available data from life science experiments, performs basic research in computational biology and offers an extensive user training programme, supporting researchers in academic and industry. Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a degree in software engineering or a related field.
Profound knowledge of Java is essential.
Familiarity with biomolecular pathway resources would be a strong plus.
Applicants will work in a highly international, team-oriented environment and collaborate closely with developers, bioinformaticians, and scientists across EMBL-EBI and with external partners. Excellent communication skills are required.
