We are looking for a Research Technician to join the group of Dr. Claire Deo in the Cell Biology and Biophysics Unit at the EMBL Heidelberg, Germany. Our group uses a combination of synthetic chemistry and protein engineering to develop chemical tools for biology.

Your role

The successful applicant will take part in specific research projects involving molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, alone and in collaboration with other lab members. The ideal candidate will also have responsibility for general laboratory management, including administration of lab resources, purchases, scheduling lab duties and training of new group members in various techniques.

You have

Applicants should have a Master or Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field and experience as a lab technician or equivalent related research experience. Excellent skills in molecular biology methods, such as cloning and protein purification is essential. The ideal candidate should have interest in basic science and laboratory work, is able to plan experiments strategically, is very well organized and can manage time effectively. Fluency in English is required.

You might also have

Familiarity with cell culture techniques or prior experience with light microscopy is beneficial.
