Our Human Resources Department is responsible to deliver high quality HR services to all EMBL personnel working at EMBL Headquarters in Heidelberg and its five sites across Europe. We are looking for a motivated individual who is interested in gaining experience in HR administration and excited by the challenge of providing an excellent service in a stimulating international environment.

Your role

Reporting to the Head of Recruitment and Advice, you will:
  • Support and provide backup for the HR Contracting team
  • Provide administrative services such as general correspondence, general secretarial tasks like e.g. filing and scanning, processing the HR mail
  • Manage e-mails from general HR inbox
  • Organise and coordinate internal HR meetings as well as external visits
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for the members of the HR department
  • Order material, IT equipment etc. for the HR department through the SAP Purchasing tool
  • Continually develop and apply procedures to facilitate effective and efficient office management
  • Perform any other duty that may be assigned

You have

As our ideal candidate, you possess relevant education and training in the area of HR administration. Strong customer orientation to provide a quality service for staff at all levels in the organisation is a must. You should have analytical and evaluative skills and be able to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. We expect very good organizational skills, reliability as well as the ability to plan and prioritize your own work programme. Proficiency in MS office applications and Internet is required. In addition, a very good command of English is essential.

You might also have

Previous relevant work experience, ideally gained from an international environment is advantageous. A good knowledge of German language is an advantage.
