We are looking for a Research Technician to join the group of Dr. Jonas Ries in the Cell Biology and Biophysics Unit. The Ries group develops novel superresolution microscopy methods and applies them to various biological systems.
The Research Technician will directly participate in and lead own research projects and will be responsible for providing technical assistance for students and postdoctoral fellows in the group. The research technicians’ tasks involve mammalian cell culture, application of various biochemical and molecular biology methods, sample preparation and advanced optical microscopy.
Applicants should have completed appropriate technical school training or hold a university degree in biological sciences. Experience in biochemistry and molecular biology and superresolution microscopy is essential. The successful candidate is able to work independently and reliably, is able to acquire new skills efficiently, is very well organized and enjoys working in an international team within a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative atmosphere. Good communication and interpersonal skills as well as a solid knowledge of English are essential. Openness to moving with the group to a new place in the near future is highly desired.
