The Arendt group main focus is to track the evolutionary history of all cell types and circuitry using Platynereis dumeriii as a main animal model. Research work combines molecular and cell biology, and microscopy. The main tasks of the research technician will be to assist in projects related to the NeuralCellTypeEvo ERC grant on cell types evolution.
In detail, tasks will include:
• Gene cloning, WMISH and inclusion of the gene expression patterns to ProSPr (an expression atlas developed by the Arendt group for larval stages)
• Specific antibodies development against different Platynereis dumerilii transcription factors.
• Single molecule FISH for identifying cell types.
