They are two modes of access to the platform:
Users can apply for high-end data collection for single-particle cryo-EM and cryo-tomography via iNEXT (www.inext-eu.org). The process is curated and involves a panel of external referees. The access programme is offered mainly for users who already have pre-screened samples and need access to a high-end electron microscope.
Sessions typically last for 3 days of imaging one sample. They consist of a first day of full support to load the samples and set up the data collection, while the acquisition runs automatically for the rest of the session. Microscope access mode is free of charge including travel and accommodation expenses. Access is funded through iNEXT, but only a limited total number of visits are supported by the programme.
This mode of access allows more flexibility for data collection strategies: one can bring several samples for the screening session and decide for a number of days of high-end data collection on each sample (2 days minimum per grid). This process is also curated by external referees and applications should be made using this form. Sessions will consist of a first screening session (1 day) on a Talos Arctica (or Titan Krios depending on availability), followed by a predetermined number of days of high-end data acquisition on a Titan Krios.
The service is fee-based with a minimum charge of € 5,000, where the acquisition package consists of one day with full support on a Talos Arctica + two day of automated acquisition on a Titan Krios. Additional Titan Krios acquisition time is € 2,000 per day.
Non-academic users (industry) should contact us directly with their access enquiries.
