The EMBL Course and Conference Office facilitates the strengthening of relationships between international scientists in cutting edge life science research across a large range of disciplines by handling the operational aspects of top-class training events in a non-profit environment.

  • Coordination of room bookings & requirements
  • Onsite logistical management
  • Overall planning and supervision of events in the EMBL Advanced Training Centre


  • Development & execution of event marketing campaigns
  • Securing advertising exchange agreements
  • Pursuing new promotional possibilities to attract a wide audience both within and outside of EMBL member states
  • Critically assess feedback and develop according to EMBL scientists’ needs


  • Work with the EMBL scientists to obtain financial support for events, including grants
  • Development of a sponsorship strategy and promotional material
