EMBL Courses and Conferences during the Coronavirus pandemic
With the onsite programme paused, many of our events are now being offered in virtual formats.
Registration is open as usual for many events, with back-up plans in place to move further courses and conferences online as necessary. Registration fees for any events affected by the COVID-19 disruption are fully refundable.
More information for participants of events at EMBL Heidelberg can be found here.
A limited number of registration fee waivers are provided by the EMBL Advanced Training Centre Corporate Partnership Programme (CPP), Merck and MESA for participants who submitted an abstract for this conference. This fee waiver will cover the registraton fee to attend the meeting.

Participants working in the following countries will be given priority for registration fee waivers: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Ukraine and Turkey. Africa, South and Central America and Asia (excluding China, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea).
Merck registration fee waivers
BioMalPar Merck registration fee waivers enable the attendance of doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows from malaria endemic countries with the purpose of adding to the diversity of experiences represented by participants at the meeting.
The Malaria Eradication Scientific Alliance (MESA) fellowships
The Malaria Eradication Scientific Alliance (MESA) provides fellowships for selected correspondents to report from the EMBL Conference "Biology and Pathology of the Malaria Parasite”. Successful applicants will be helped to defray the costs of travel, meeting registration, and accommodation, but not meals, not taxis and does not offer a per diem. MESA Correspondents will be chosen by the MESA team based on the quality of the applications. Researchers or students from malaria-endemic areas are highly encouraged to apply and their applications will be prioritised over applications from non-malaria endemic countries.
Application deadline: Closed
Please find further information regarding application at http://www.mesamalaria.org/updates/volunteer-mesa-correspondent-report-embl-conference-biology-and-pathology-malaria-parasite
All applicants who applied for financial assistance to attend the onsite conference will be considered for financial assistance in the form of a fee waiver for the virtual event. Further financial assistance applications are not possible.
The scientific organisers will select the recipients of all financial assistance during the abstract selection process. Results will be announced approximately 5 weeks before the event start date. Selection results do not impact your admission to the meeting. Selection is based on your current work or study location, the reasons for needing financial support and the impact this event will have on your career.
