EMBL Courses and Conferences during the Coronavirus pandemic
With the onsite programme paused, many of our events are now being offered in virtual formats.
Registration is open as usual for many events, with back-up plans in place to move further courses and conferences online as necessary. Registration fees for any events affected by the COVID-19 disruption are fully refundable.
More information for participants of events at EMBL Heidelberg can be found here.
The following optional pre-conference workshop will be hosted by the conference sponsor FortéBio and will take place before the EMBL Conference: Expanding the Druggable Proteome with Chemical Biology
Let’s discover the future-oriented ELISA alternative today
|Date: Wednesday, 5 February 2020, from 11:45 to 12:45|
Venue: Courtyard room B, EMBL Advanced Training Centre
Presenter: Dr. Helge Schnerr, Marketing Manager EMEA, Forté
The majority of drugs directed against the druggable proteome are small molecules. However, for several years in a row 8 of the Top-10 pharmaceuticals are biologics.
Traditional methods for analyzing the kinetics of biomolecular interactions such as ELISA are often cumbersome and may require rigorous sample preparation. In addition, ELISA may not provide the information required for the confident understanding of the mechanism of action of a drug molecule.
In contrast, Biolayer-Interferometry (BLI) provides an easy to use the real-time label-free system.
Characteristics of BLI systems:
Analyze affinity, kinetics, and active concentration in real-world samples in confidence every day.
Benefits of BLI assays:
Detect interactions of a diverse range of biomolecules.
Examples of BLI performance:
Join the workshop to discover BLI for your research. Several examples demonstrate the development improvement of new therapeutics against the druggable proteome.
All conference participants will receive an email with a registration link.
Participation in the workshop is first come - first served.
